How is Locklab different from other treatments?

But no matter how effective a treatment is, it doesn’t work if you fail to take it consistently. That's why Locklab comes in a 3-in-1 pill, to combat the failure of topicals and multiple treatments that frustrate men and cause them to give up on solving hair loss. “One pill taken daily” is a great marriage of the right ingredients and the right lifestyle choice for most men.

Why is an oral treatment better than a topical one?

Direct absorption:
Oral treatments offer “systemic action” by being absorbed into the bloodstream. This addresses the underlying causes of hair loss from within, such as hormonal imbalances or genetic factors.

More effective:
5mg of oral minoxidil is effective in 90% of men, while topical minoxidil is only effective in 40-50% of men. This is due to many men having a biological shortage of sulfotransferase, the enzyme that converts topical minoxidil into its active form. (source).

More convenient:
Oral treatments are more convenient, require less frequent application, and strongly reduce the #1 cause of failure for hair loss medications which is compliance (actually using the medication consistently). They also remove issues of scalp sensitivity from topical treatments that can lead to skin irritation or allergies.

What causes hair loss in men?

Male pattern hair loss; also called androgenetic alopecia or male pattern alopecia, can be the result of heredity, hormonal changes, or medical conditions — but hereditary hair loss with age is the most common cause of baldness. Anyone can lose hair on their head, but it's more common in men.

How long does it take to work?

Locklab works to stop hair loss as soon as treatment begins. Most men will see regrowth around 3-6 months, but potentially up to 12 months in some cases. It is also possible over the first 12 months for your hair to thicken significantly and thus have the appearance of regrowth, without new hair actually appearing.

Are there potential side effects?

The following is not a complete list of potential side effects, but these are the most commonly asked about.

Oral Minoxidil: Oral minoxidil lowers your blood pressure, and may cause serious side effects that impact the heart, including pericardial effusion and tamponade. It should not be taken if you have been diagnosed with low blood pressure or take blood pressure medication.

Minoxidil can cause hypertrichosis (a slight increase of hair on places other than your head such as eyelashes, beard, etc.), as well as pedal edema (fluid retention). These side effects go away if you stop treatment.

Finasteride: Though rare, there is approximately a 0.3% chance of men discontinuing use of finasteride due to sexual side effects like lower libido, ED, and lower semen volume. (According to the FDA, 1.2% of men stopped taking finasteride due to adverse sexual side effects, versus 0.9% of men taking a placebo - a difference that equals 0.3%).
Sexual side effects go away if you stop treatment.

How do oral finasteride and minoxidil work?

Oral Finasteride inhibits the production of dihydrotestosterone (DHT), a hormone that causes hair follicles to shrink and eventually stop producing hair. Oral Minoxidil stimulates hair growth by indefinitely pushing hair follicles into their anagen phase—the growth phase of the hair follicle.

Will I need to see a doctor in person or on a video call?

No, you won’t need to see a doctor, and you won’t need to go to a pharmacy. You’ll just fill out a 2-minute online quiz/evaluation which your Locklab provider will look over to determine if treatment is right for you. If prescribed, your medication will be shipped to your door.

You are encouraged, however, to in the M tab of your Locklab Portal if you have any questions before or after receiving your prescription.

Are there any drug interactions to be aware of?

To help avoid interactions, be sure to tell your Locklab provider about all medications, vitamins, or herbs you’re taking. You’ll be prompted to mention this info when purchasing a prescription; and if anything changes, you can message your doctor anytime in the Messages tab inside your Locklab Portal.

Oral Finasteride: The primary concern of taking this alongside other medications is accidentally causing unusually high concentrations of the drug in your blood, which can lead to more serious side effects. However, per finasteride's FDA label, there are no major drug interactions associated with this drug.

Oral Minoxidil: The primary concern would be taking oral minoxidil with other blood pressure medications since minoxidil lowers your blood pressure.

What type of hair loss does Locklab treat?

Locklab treats male pattern baldness (also known as androgenic alopecia). It’s the leading cause of hair loss around the world and affects an estimated 50 million men in the United States alone.

Locklab can thicken hair and increase hair count all over your scalp (on both the frontal and vertex areas). Your Locklab physician will determine if you’re a good candidate for Locklab.

Am I eligible to take Locklab (age, gender, etc.) ?

Locklab is available to men who are 18 or older, and women who are not and cannot become pregnant (post-menopause, etc.). Locklab is available to ship within the United States.

Can I use insurance or FSA/HSA to pay for Locklab?

Locklab is considered cosmetic and not currently covered by most insurance plans. As such, we are an entirely self-pay service and insurance is not accepted for our products.

Also, the treatments we sell are currently NOT eligible for FSA/HSA. However, that may change depending on future healthcare laws. We recommend you ask your benefits provider if you have any additional questions.

How should I take the pill?

Take one pill daily at anytime, with or without food.

If you miss a day, don’t double up, just skip that dose and take it as usual the next day. There are no additional benefits from taking Locklab more than once a day.

Many patients find success taking Locklab in the morning so they don’t forget, just in case you have a busy day or evening.

GoGo Meds DBA Jungle Jims is located at 5484 Dixie Highway Fairfield, OH 45014. They can be contacted at (877) 858-3784. They are able to dispense medications and maintain a license in 44 US states. Unfortunately, they cannot dispense sterile compounds and do not have a license in the following US states: NEVADA, NEW JERSEY, NORTH CAROLINA, TEXAS, MASSACHUSETTS, MISSISSIPPI, NEW HAMPSHIRE, WEST VIRGINIA, and DELAWARE.

What happens if I stop taking the medication?

You’ll simply lose the progress you’ve made. It’s a common myth that if you stop taking a hair loss drug, your hair will fall out faster. The truth is, the only thing that will happen is you’ll lose the results that came from the medication and your hair will return to what it would’ve looked like if you never started treatment.

How long should I keep using Locklab?

As long as you want it to continue to help you with your hair. Once you stop the medication, the effects you’ve gained from it will slowly start to diminish, so you need to keep taking Locklab to maintain its effects.

Why is more hair falling out after I started treatment?

When you become responsive to treatment, you’ll likely go through a shedding phase where you notice more hair in the sink or shower. This is not a negative sign, it’s actually a very positive sign that treatment is working—pushing out your old/dead hair to make room for new, healthy growth. This usually lasts for around 4-6 weeks and is “hair fall” (with replacement) and not “hair loss” (without replacement).

How often will I receive Locklab shipments?

You’ll receive your first shipment 7-9 business days after you order. Your first refill will be processed a few weeks before you run out of treatment, that way you always have a little more than you need so your treatment doesn't lapse.

Why has my order been returned to sender?

If you see on your order tracking that your package has been returned to sender, this may be because your address isn't current with us. Please check the address in your Locklab Portal to confirm that it is accurate and update it if applicable. Where is my order?

You’ll receive an email confirmation with tracking information as soon as your product ships. If you think the email could be lost in your inbox, you can search “help@locklab.co.” Your first order of Locklab usually ships within 7-9 business days since it is freshly compounded for you.

Can I order different quantities of hair loss medication?

At this time, Locklab comes in a 5-month, 3-month, and monthly supply. All prices are based on your chosen plan.

Can I cancel or update the address on an order that has already shipped?

No, we can’t update your address for an order that has already been processed and shipped. However, you can update your address for future shipments inside your Locklab Portal. If you have any questions, please reach out to support by calling or texting (866) 562-5522, or emailing help@locklab.co

When will I receive my first order of treatment?

From start to finish, you should have your first order of treatment on your doorstep in under two weeks. Once you place your order and fill out a quick consultation form, your Locklab medical provider will review your answers and be in touch with you within 24-48 hours. You'll then have an opportunity to ask any follow-up questions and make any changes you need to your order. It’ll arrive 7-9 business days later. If you’ve already placed your order and are wondering when it’ll arrive, check your confirmation email for order details.

Your first refill will be billed and shipped sooner after your initial purchase than the following refills. This is to ensure there is no lapse in treatment and you don't run out of Locklab.

My shipment never arrived. What do I do?

We're sorry to hear your Locklab treatment hasn't arrived. We recommend checking the tracking information in the shipping confirmation email you received to see the status of your shipment. It usually takes 7-9 business days after the order ships for it to arrive. Please contact us for a replacement if:

it has been 10 or more business days since your order shipped and it still has not arrived. The Locklab Replacement Policy requires 10 business days to have elapsed after your treatment is shipped before we can send you a replacement.
it has been 3 or more business days since your package was marked delivered, but you haven't received it. Shipping carriers will sometimes mark or scan packages as delivered but not deliver them until a few days later.
you received your package, but an item was missing, defective, or damaged. You must report this within 30 days of the original ship date to receive a free replacement. If more than 30 days have elapsed after the original ship date, we reserve the right to deny any financial relief.

What do I do if my Locklab order is missing or damaged?

Please note: Our replacement policy requires 10 business days to have passed between the date your treatment was shipped before we can send you a replacement.

If your package was marked delivered, but you didn't receive it, please wait a few days. Shipping carriers will sometimes mark or scan packages as delivered but not deliver them until later. If you still have not received your package 3 business days after it was marked delivered, please reach out to our support team by calling or texting (866) 562-5522, or emailing us at help@locklab.co for a replacement shipment.

If you need to report a missing, defective, or damaged item, you may also contact our Care Team. You must report this within 30 days of the original ship date to receive a free replacement. Does Locklab come in discreet packaging?

Yes, Locklab will be shipped to your door or mailbox in discreet packaging.

Locklab is available in 49 states and DC — excluding Alabama.

Unfortunately, we do not ship internationally. To ensure the safety of our patients, we also do not recommend forwarding Locklab orders out of the country. Our medical providers are only licensed in the United States, and our packages are not suited for international shipping.

How do I get a refund?

Our 365-Day Happiness Guarantee lets you get a refund on your LATEST QUARTER of treatment during the first 12 months after purchasing Locklab. Please email help@locklab.co with the subject line “Refund Return Request” to start a refund.

Exception: Refunds do not apply to customers on the Monthly ($80 per month) Plan.

How do I cancel my prescription?

I might be experiencing side effects, what should I do?

If you’re experiencing a physical or mental health crisis, please call 911 or go to your nearest emergency department. If you are contemplating suicide, call 911 or call/text the National Suicide and Crisis Lifeline at 988. These services are available 24/7.

Please do not message your Locklab provider if this is an emergency, as they typically take 12 hours to reply.
